Steps Towards Success

In the beginning of college, we got difficulties due to many factors like agetting used to a different environment. We met with many people for the first time. Some people stayed and some left, but we all worked hard to overcome these difficulties to finally succeed. Happy graduation to all!

Welcome to the Wonderland

Dancers:  Shinyil, Manni, Judy, Yucheng

Music: Flower Day

Our dance focuses on the spiritual power humans find in dance ritual. We are illustrating four fairies from Ancient China. Each one of us has represents a good virtue: Love, Courage, Knowledge, and Honesty. We create this ritual to give these virtues to every newborn as we bring our blessings to them

Goddess of the Holy Tablet

 
Dancers: Hanyu , Emilia Ramirez, Yibing Yang, Artemis Yang 

Music: La Campanella


Our dance focuses on expressing the power of women. The story is about a village that is invaded but gains peace and freedom with the help of a goddess. We refer to the worship of the Greek goddess Terpsichore, the goddess of dance. Thus, in our dance three women perform a ritual of gratitude to the goddess expressing how women help each other under her protection.

Dance for Rain Praying
 
Dancers: Zhikun Chen, Junjia Liang, Haoming Zhang

Our dance illustrates the Chinese traditional rain praying movements created by one of our minority peoples living in  a dry area of China. First we crave for rain to fall and when it finally rains we dance out of joy and happiness. Then, we find out that as a result of our dance we had a good harvest. Thus, we continue dancing to express joy.

Our piece represents the diffusion of multiple cultures as we combine Western and Eastern dance themes.

Let Me In

Music: Mario M - let Me Out

Our dance symbolizes how we each grow as different entities. Our dance begins with us working as complete strangers who end up morphing into one community despite our differences. It shows the harmony of the group hrough our dance-moves and emotions.
